Interested in exploring how you can weave them into your education or future career? Career Booster EUrope<\/strong><\/a>, an information and networking fair,<\/strong> that takes place on September 30, 2023, <\/strong>will give you ideas and hands-on examples on how to approach these questions. Meet and network with representatives of EU companies in the US, universities, funding institutions, consulates, study abroad organizations, vocational training schools and others. Attend panel discussions, presentations and workshops that will help you think about how to design your individual trajectory. The event is geared towards high school students<\/strong>, undergraduate- <\/strong>and graduate students <\/strong>and anyone interested in a future with world languages. <\/strong>Attendance is free-of-charge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the European Day of Languages?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Career Booster EUrope<\/strong> honors the European Day of Languages (EDL). Launched in 2001 by the Council of Europe, EDL is celebrated anually and globally on September 26.<\/strong> It aims to raise awareness of the importance of language learning; promote the rich linguistic and cultural diversity of Europe and  increase plurilingualism and intercultural understanding. About the Panels<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the event three panel discussions are going to take place. Each panel will focus on a different subject including the issues connected with studying and working in Europe. A Polish-American speaker, Sylwia Jasinski<\/strong>, MD<\/strong>, <\/strong>will participate in the second discussion about her experiences as a medical student at the English Division of the Medical University in Gdansk. Sylwia Jasinski, MD<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n

Sylwia Jasinski <\/strong>grew up in Queens, New York after moving to the United States from Poland as a young child. After high school, she decided to pursue a career in medicine and began her studies in the English Division of the Medical University of Gdansk in Poland. She graduated at the top of her medical school class in 2013. She completed a year of postgraduate medical education and training in the Foundation Training Programme in England, after which she moved back to the United States. She completed her Pediatric residency training at Winthrop University Hospital in New York, where she was the chief resident. She continued to complete her Pediatric Hematology\/Oncology fellowship at NYU Langone in Manhattan. She now works as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Hematology\/Oncology at NYU Langone Long Island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the Organizers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This event is organized by EUNIC NY in collaboration with local partners. <\/strong>EUNIC NY is part of EUNIC<\/strong> (EU<\/strong> N<\/strong>ational I<\/strong>nstitutes for C<\/strong>ulture),  a global network of EU cultural organizations. To date there are 125 clusters represented in 90 countries<\/strong>. In New York City, the EUNIC-NY-cluster consists of 22 regular members and 18 associated members<\/strong>. Its aim is to promote European values, build capacity among members and partners, and engage local partners in dialogue and cultural projects.
