Soprano Joanna Freszel<\/strong> and pianist \u0141ukasz Chrz\u0119szczyk<\/strong> are a duo of outstanding young Polish artists involved in varied projects and performances of music from the nineteenth century up to the latest compositions of today. In 2018, the duo recorded the album \u015apiewnik polski <\/em>(Polish Songbook<\/em>), an anthology of twentieth and twenty-first century Polish song (Orph\u00e9e Classics, 2018), and in the 2019\/2020 artistic season they made a concert tour of Polish philharmonic halls performing recitals as part of the \u2018Scena Muzyki Polskiej\u2019 (\u2018Polish Music Stage\u2019) program.\u202f\u202fHaving concertized and recorded around the world, the duo will make their U.S. debut.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Freszel Duo concert tour is part of the Polish Music on Stage\/U.S. Edition project, which is realized by the National Institute of Music, co-funded by the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage as part of the \u2018Inspiring Culture\u2019 program. Joanna Freszel <\/strong>(soprano) is the winner of the Golden Orpheus awarded by L’Acad\u00e9mie du disque lyrique for the best contemporary music interpretation on her debut album Real Life Song<\/em>, dedicated to music of Polish composers. She performed in the Teatr Wielki \u2013 National Opera in Warsaw, the Grand Theatre in Pozna\u0144, the Estonian National Opera and Teatro Lope de Vega in Seville. She also toured in Poland and abroad with many orchestras and worked with conductors such as Jerzy Maksymiuk, Gabriel Chmura, Jacek Kasprzyk, Paul Esswood and Wim Boerman, among others.\u202f<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0141ukasz Chrz\u0119szczyk <\/strong>(pianist) <\/strong>after completing his studies, he started teaching at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, where he has a class of chamber music with piano and where, as a pianist, he works with instrumental music students. He has performed at such venues as Het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the headquarters of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice, as well as at philharmonic halls in Bratislava, Milan and Warsaw. Chrz\u0119szczyk has recorded for Polskie Radio (Polish Radio) and TVP Kultura, and released several CD albums. He has recently finished a project called \u2018Antologia mazurka\u2019 (\u2018Mazurka Anthology\u2019), whose aim was to record as many as several dozen forgotten mazurkas written by Polish composers.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n
