Polish Cultural Institute New York is honored to announce participation of Marlena Kudlicka<\/strong><\/a>,<\/strong> a leading contemporary artist sculptor, in a group show at UNTITLED Art Fair<\/strong> in Miami Beach, represented by the Max Estrella Gallery<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 12th<\/sup> edition of this years UNTITLED Art<\/strong> Fair<\/strong><\/a> will take place during Miami Art Week from Wednesday<\/strong> December 6<\/strong> through Sunday<\/strong> December 10<\/strong> with press and VIP preview at on Tuesday December 5<\/strong>, on the sands of Miami Beach between Ocean Drive and 12th Street. The fair coincides with the 21st<\/sup> edition of Art Basel Miami Beach, held from December 8 – 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marlena Kudlicka<\/strong><\/a> (born in Poland based in Berlin) a contemporary artist who explores mathematical and linguistic structures in her work, focusing on the mechanics of spatial and semantic relationships that concern communication, language, and space. Her carefully crafted, often rigorous sculptural and relief-like constructions, for which she typically uses materials such as powder coated steel and glass, reflect the thought processes behind strategy of verbal and nonverbal communication, systems, equations, and formulas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is questioning to what degree \u201cprecision tolerance\u201d is allowed in order to transform thoughts into physical form. On her journey between precision and error, Kudlicka is also a neo-constructivist, as she draws from the tradition of the historical avant-garde, particularly Polish Constructivism movements of the 20s and 30s like \u201eBlok\u201d and \u201ePraesens\u201d, co-founded by Katarzyna Kobro and W\u0142adys\u0142aw Strzemi\u0144ski, whose studio at the time was considered the \u201cpalet of constructivism\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the Kestner Gesellschaft she developed a massive and filigree looking, elegant three-dimensional wall sculpture titled one more than 1o<\/em>.  On a connecting line of about 19 meters, three large circles in the colors dark red, black, and pearl white are arranged at different distances from one another, accompanied by smaller characters like brackets, quotation marks, percentages, numbers, and letters such as an inverted 1, a capital A, and a lowercase t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u2018scientific predictability,\u2019 implied by their vocabulary, becomes a poetic dramaturgy of sculptural form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fair coincides with the 21st edition of Art Basel Miami Beach, held from December 8 - 10.\nArtists in the show: Marlena Kudlicka, Nacho Mart\u00edn Silva, Miler Lagos, Daniel Canogar, Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, Inma Femen\u00eda.\nMarlena Kudlicka (born in Poland based in Berlin) a contemporary artist who explores mathematical and linguistic structures in her work, focusing on the mechanics of spatial and semantic relationships that concern communication, language, and space. Her carefully crafted, often rigorous sculptural and relief-like constructions, for which she typically uses materials such as powder coated steel and glass, reflect the thought processes behind strategy of verbal and nonverbal communication, systems, equations, and formulas.\nShe is questioning to what degree \u201cprecision tolerance\u201d is allowed in order to transform thoughts into physical form. On her journey between precision and error, Kudlicka is also a neo-constructivist, as she draws from the tradition of the historical avant-garde, particularly Polish Constructivism movements of the 20s and 30s like \u201eBlok\u201d and \u201ePraesens\u201d, co-founded by Katarzyna Kobro and W\u0142adys\u0142aw Strzemi\u0144ski, whose studio at the time was considered the \u201cpalet of constructivism\u201d.\nCurrently Marlena Kudlicka's the newest two sculptural works \"one more than 1o'' and \"one more than 1o. Ingredients'', 2023, are on view at the Kestner Gesellschaft in Hannover until July 2024. This commission is curated by Adam Budak in collaboration with Robert Knoke.\nFor the Kestner Gesellschaft she developed a massive and filigree looking, elegant three-dimensional wall sculpture titled one more than 1o.
