Nine concerts of the jubilee festival will take place in Warsaw, another three are planned in the concert halls of symphony orchestras from Pozna\u0144, Katowice and Wroc\u0142aw. The concerts will be live streamed online to the public. The festival events will be broadcast by Polish Radio 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The festival\u2019s theme \u2013 \u201cBeethoven and Penderecki. The Sphere of Sacrum\u201d \u2013 defines the programme of the concerts, which will feature both religious works and those that reflect the human spiritual dimension in its broadest sense. The festival will highlight foremost Polish symphonic and choral ensembles as well as an array of renowned vocalists, including Natalia Rubi\u015b, Iwona Hossa, Karolina Sikora, Anna Luba\u0144ska, Aleksandra Kubas-Kruk, Krystian Krzeszowiak, Mariusz Godlewski, \u0141ukasz Konieczny, Tomasz Konieczny.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Symphony concerts will be performed by Polish ensembles such as the Polish Radio Orchestra in Warsaw conducted by Micha\u0142 Klauza (works by Penderecki and Olivier Messiaen), Jerzy Semkow Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra under Dawid Runtz (works by Beethoven and Sibelius, Haydn\u2019s Trumpet Concerto in E flat major <\/em>with cadenzas by K. Penderecki performed by G\u00e1bor Boldoczki), as well as Sinfonietta Cracovia led by Jurek Dyba\u0142 (works by Penderecki, Takemitsu and Barber). Continuing the series of Unknown Operas, <\/em>\u0141ukasz Borowicz will present two one-act works \u2013 Paul Hindemith\u2019s Sancta Susanna <\/em>and Gustav Holst\u2019s Savitri<\/em>. The Silesian String Quartet\u2019s chamber concert featuring the complete string quartets by Krzysztof Penderecki and Schumann\u2019s Piano Quintet in E flat major <\/em>with pianist Aleksandra \u015awigut, promises to be intriguing.
