DESCRIPTION:Throughout 2026, the Polish Institute Library will host a new series of
meetings in Polish – “Polish Meetings” (Polskie spotkania) –
aimed at the Polish-speaking community in Israel. The series seeks to
create a lively and vibrant community space. In each session, community
members will lead an open discussion around their interests, knowledge, and
expertise. It is a place to meet, share personal and professional
experience, and strengthen connections within the community – with
generosity, curiosity, and a desire to deepen relationships.
The 4th event will take place on May 29 and will be devoted to a discussion
of two bestsellers by Polish psychologist Natalia de Barbaro: Kind
Companion (Czuła przewodniczka) and Przędza.
This is a meeting dedicated to reflection, sharing, and listening — to
ourselves and to others. Through reading, we will explore themes of female
identity, expectations, self-discovery, and the inner voices that accompany
us in everyday life. No prior knowledge is required — only curiosity and
a willingness to be present and read together.
The Polish Institute Library has several copies of the books available, and
we will also be happy to provide digital versions for anyone who would like
to read in advance and engage more deeply with the discussion. To request a
copy, please contact Agata Krizevski at:
telaviv.librarian@instytutpolski.pl.
