In the exhibition, the place of the celestial body is given to the viewer, who becomes a central part of the piece. Halatek works involve human perception to unveil new dimensions of existence that are on the edge of human knowledge, unknown territories that balance between seen and unseen. The creative process of constructing light resembles an experimental lab where the final outcome of designing the art experience becomes unpredictable and unique.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In partnership with the Adam Mickiewicz Institute and The Polish Institute, Tel-Aviv<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Karolina Halatek (b. Poland) studied Design for Performance at the University of the Arts London; Fine Arts at the Universit\u00e4t der K\u00fcnste Berlin; and Media Art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. During her studies in Berlin, she participated in workshops at the Institut f\u00fcr Raumexperimente run by Olafur Eliasson. Using light as the central medium in her work, Halatek creates experiential site-specific spaces that incorporate visual, architectural, and sculptural elements. Seeing her work primarily as a catalyst for experience, she creates installations that have strong experiential and immersive characteristics, often the result of collaborations with quantum physicists, founders of the superstring theory (Leonard Susskind, Roger Penrose), and precision mechanical engineers.
