Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead<\/em> is the second book by Olga Tokarczuk, the Nobel Prize winner for literature 2019, <\/em>to be printed in Hebrew <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

thanks to the masterful translation of Miriam Borenstein <\/span><\/strong>and the efforts of Achuzat Bayit Books.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The novel was adapted to the silver screen by Agnieszka Holland<\/em> in her 2017 film Spoor. This film was shown in Israel as part of the Polish Zoom events in 2020. <\/span><\/p>\n

It follows the protagonist, Janina Duszejko, who lives in a remote village and is passionate about animal rights. One evening, one of her neighbors is found dead. <\/span><\/p>\n

In her efforts to aid the police solve the case (which include casting astrological maps for those involved) the plot weaves together scenes from Polish village life and detective fiction.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is the second work by Tokarczuk<\/em> to be released in Hebrew with the first, The Books of Jacob<\/em>, released in 2020 via Carmel Publishing House. <\/span><\/p>\n
