The Israeli Camerata Jerusalem will host two special concerts at the beginning of November 2022: \u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The concerts will take place on November 5th in Tel Aviv and on November 6th in Jerusalem with famous pianist Garrick Ohlsson<\/em>, an American musician who won the <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

International Chopin Competition. \u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Male singers from the Krakow Philharmonic will perform alongside cantor Shai Abramson<\/em> and soloists the first Israeli premiere of Penderecki\u2019s Kaddish and more. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The concert will include the rare chance to listen to Requiem by Luigi Cherubini<\/em> performed in parts, and the Israeli premiere of works by the great Polish-Jewish poet <\/span><\/p>\n

Julian Tuwim set to music by Karol Szymanowski. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The performances held under the name Musical Bridges Kedusha will be lead by the Israeli Camerata Jerusalem under conductor Avner Biron<\/em><\/strong> as part of the Instruments and <\/span><\/p>\n

As part of the festival, alongside the two performances, Mr. Ohlsson will give a master\u2019s class at the Jerusalem Music Center (Mishkanot Shananim). This master\u2019s class will be aired to <\/span><\/p>\n

Poland on Thursday November 3 in cooperation with the International Chopin Competition. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Garrick Ohlsson<\/strong><\/em> is one of the leading pianists in the world and won first place during the 1970 Chopin Competition held in Warsaw. He is the first US pianist to win this prestigious award. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The concert is held as part of the third annual production of Musical Bridges Israel-Poland series of performances with the partnership of the Polish Beethoven Association as part of a festive <\/span><\/p>\n

season opening concert at the Instruments and Voices series of concerts by the Israel Jerusalem Kamarata for 2022-2023. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Israeli Camerata Jerusalem arrived to the Tel Aviv Opera House for a very special performance. Soprano Iwona Hossa performed for the first time in Israel a musical adaptation to <\/span><\/p>\n

Polish poems written by the Jewish-Polish poet Julian Tuwim as set to music by Karol Szymanowski. Cantor Shao Abramson performed Kaddish by Krzysztof Penderecki, another <\/span><\/p>\n

festive premiere for the Israeli audience. American pianist Garrick Ohlsson won such warm and heartfelt praise from the audience he ended the concert with a spontaneous performance <\/span><\/p>\n

of music by the great Polish composer Chopin. Ohlsson made history and is the first American to win the Chopin Competition in Warsaw in 1970.<\/span><\/p>\n

We were also honored by the presence of visitors from the Polish Culture Ministry, the Beethoven Association in Poland, the Polish Embassy in Israel, and of course the director of the Polish <\/span><\/p>\n

Institute in Tel Aviv Anna Raduchowska Brochwicz. Polish narrator Slawomir Holland was delighted to meet his old friend, Yiddish actor Shmulik Atzmon. Mr. Atzmon spoke about the uniqueness <\/span><\/p>\n

of Poland as the cradle of Jewish European culture and said events like this concert have crucial importance for the relations between the two people.<\/span><\/p>\n

Atzmun\u2019s book I Dream in Yiddish was published thanks to the support of the Polish Inst Tel Aviv and depicts the life of this famous Yiddish actor in Israel and the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cantor Shao Abramson performed Kaddish by Krzysztof Penderecki, another \r\nfestive premiere for the Israeli audience.
