Later <\/span><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">in his life, he became known as one of the most outstanding pianists <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">of recent years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">He treated the piano as a cure for depression and heartbreak, and once even took part in a piano <\/span><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">competition in St. Petersburg, thus <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">breaking the law prohibiting Jews from staying in the Russian <\/span><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">capital for more than one day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Artur Rubinstein liked Israel and performed several times with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">without receiving any payment for such <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">cooperation.
