The Polish Institute Tel Aviv and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Israel, invite you to take part in the ‘Death for Humanity. The Ulma Family’ exhibition.<\/p>\n
The Institute of National Remembrance in Poland initially presented the exhibition during the beatification of the Ulma Family by the Catholic Church.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In the summer of 1942, the Ulma Family was a standard Polish family with seven kids in Markowa, a small town in southeast Poland. However, during the German occupation, they heroically decided to protect and hide Jews in their home. Unfortunately, they were all denounced to the Germans and paid the price.<\/p>\n
Therefore, today, the Ulma Family has become a symbol of Polish sacrifice and endurance.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On September 13th, 1995, the Yad Vashem Institute in Jerusalem posthumously honored J\u00f3zef and Wiktoria Ulma with the Righteous Among the Nations title.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Last year,\u00a0<\/strong>on December 17th, 2022, Pope Francis approved the decree on the martyrdom of the Ulma family and authorized the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints to publish it.<\/p>\n The beatification of the Ulma family took place this year on September 10th, 2023, in Markowa, Poland, the Ulma family’s hometown.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n The exhibition will be open from December 3rd at 5 pm, displayed at the courtyard of the St. Peter’s church in Jaffa every Sunday, until December 17th at the church’s operating hours.\u00a0<\/p>\n It is essential to mention that there won’t be a festive opening to the exhibition due to the current situation in Israel.\u00a0<\/p>\n We prioritize sharing our common heritage, especially in these difficult times.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Special thanks goes to the St. Peter’s church in Jaffa for letting us display this powerful exhibition.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n We hope to see you there.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n For photos and information about the Ulma Family:<\/p>\n
