The exhibition, which was created by the Marek Edelman Dialogue Center in \u0141\u00f3d\u017a, arrived to Israel last year thanks to the cooperation of the Polish Institute in Tel Aviv with the Multidisciplinary Unit for Polish Studies of the University of Haifa.<\/p>\n

Since last year, the exhibition has been presented at the University of Haifa, as well as at the Municipal Libraries of Kfar Saba and Beer Sheva. The next and final edition of Artur Szyk’s exhibition will take place at the Menachem Begin Heritage Center in Jerusalem.<\/p>\n

The opening of the exhibition will take place on 4 May (Sunday) at 6:30 p.m.<\/strong> at the Menachem Begin Heritage Center in Jerusalem and will be available to the public until the end of June 2025.<\/p>\n

To us, the Employees of the Marek Edelman Dialogue Center \u00a0in \u0141\u00f3d\u017a, Artur Szyk\u2019s works help talk about the history of Poland, Europe and the world, but also about tolerance, social injustice, multiculturalism and empathy.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Artur Szyk<\/strong>\u00a0(1894 \u2013 1951)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 author of miniatures, illuminated books and excellent caricatures, is one of the most interesting artists of the 20th century. His uniqueness is separate, yet deeply embedded in culture. In his most important works \u2013 \u201cThe Statute of Kalisz\u201d and \u201cThe Haggadah\u201d \u2013 he referred to the works of medieval masters, but spoke his own modern language. His anti-fascist caricatures were also recognizable, through which he waged \u2013 as he himself emphasized \u2013 a personal war against Hitler. Artur Szyk\u2019s works can be found in the most important libraries and museums in the world, but the artist remains a little-known figure, even in his hometown of \u0141\u00f3d\u017a. Poles still know little about him, although we should talk about him and proudly show his work to the whole world.<\/p>\n
