The Polish Institute invites to a fascinating lecture by Zofia Hartman, author of Sugihara\u2019s List<\/em> <\/strong>\u2014 a book that tells one of the most moving stories of World War II: the list of entry visas issued by Chiune Sugihara, the Vice-Consul of Japan in Lithuania, which saved the lives of thousands of Jews.<\/p>\n

During the lecture, Hartman will speak about the process of writing the book, the historical research behind it, and the stories of the refugees who were granted a “new life” thanks to Sugihara\u2019s courageous actions.<\/p>\n

The lecture will be held in English<\/strong>

The festival centers on the heroic story of Chiune Sugihara and the journey of Jewish Holocaust refugees through Poland, Lithuania, Japan, and Israel.<\/p>\n

Zofia Hartman, the festival\u2019s historical advisor, will also attend the main event in Israel on September 20.<\/p>\n
