In 1985, Sugihara was recognized as <em data-start=\"1284\" data-end=\"1313\">Righteous Among the Nations<\/em>, and today in Japan he is considered a hero and a symbol of moral courage.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1392\" data-end=\"1726\">The international festival DROGA D\u014c seeks to rekindle the memory of Sugihara and his rescue story through contemporary art and music. \u201cDroga\u201d in Polish means \u201croad\u201d or \u201cpath,\u201d while \u201cD\u014d\u201d in Japanese signifies a way or guiding principle \u2013 a name that bridges cultures and symbolizes the path of rescue and hope that Sugihara created.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1728\" data-end=\"2227\">The events will open in Tel Aviv on <strong data-start=\"1764\" data-end=\"1786\">September 19, 2025<\/strong>, with a meeting with historian <strong data-start=\"1818\" data-end=\"1835\">Zofia Hartman<\/strong> \u2013 author of the book <em data-start=\"1857\" data-end=\"1876\">The Sugihara List<\/em> \u2013 at the Polish Institute Library in Tel Aviv. The next day, <strong data-start=\"1938\" data-end=\"1954\">September 20<\/strong>, a chamber music concert will take place at Studio Ant in Tel Aviv, featuring works by Jewish-European and Japanese composers of the 20th century, accompanied by a poster exhibition created in collaboration with the Department of Visual Communication at Bezalel Academy.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2229\" data-end=\"2512\">The entire festival is based on musical and artistic collaboration between creators and performers from the four countries, aiming to merge different perspectives and sensitivities.
