The title evokes both the \u201cflight of the story\u201d and a bird\u2019s-eye view \u2013 the possibility of seeing the familiar from a different angle.<\/p>\n<p>Over two evenings, leading Israeli actors will read selected works by European writers in Hebrew. The conversation will explore writing, literature, and encounters between languages and cultures.<\/p>\n<p>The programme will also include <strong>short film screenings, music and additional events<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Polish contribution will focus on <strong>Dorota Mas\u0142owska<\/strong>, one of the leading voices in contemporary Polish literature. Mas\u0142owska burst onto the literary scene at the age of 19 with her debut novel <em>Polish-Russian War under the White-Red Flag<\/em>, and in 2006 received the Nike Literary Award for her novel <em>The Queen\u2019s Peacock<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Her writing combines innovative language, slang, popular culture, absurdity and black humour with sharp observations on identity, society and contemporary culture.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the event, audiences will hear <strong>\u201cHousewarming Party\u201d<\/strong>, translated into Hebrew by David Shafranek, from the short-story collection <em>Magic Wound<\/em> (2024).
