Dhaka International Film Festival was held between 11 and 19 of January. One of the Festival’s goal is to promote women-filmmakers from all around the world.
The audience had a wonderful chance to see the most interesting recent movies, as well as some old titles, selected for the Retrospectives Section, among others the films directed by Joanna Kos-Krauze: excellent Polish director who has been working for many years with her husband Krzysztof Krauze who passed away in 2014. Joanna Kos-Krauze had an opportunity to present her four films: My Nikifor (Mój Nikifor), Saviour’s Square (Plac Zbawiciela), Papusha (Papusza) and Birds are Singing in Kingali (Ptaki śpiewają w Kigali) and all of them impressed the local audience. What is more, the Polish director was Jury Chairman for the Asian Competition Section.
The organization of her retrospective was possible thanks to the collaboration of the Festival with IKH Pictures Promotion and Polish Institute New Delhi.
