Polish Institute New Delhi in December 2021 presented an exhibition about Stanisław Lem on the occasion of his 100th birth anniversary at Embassy of the Republic of Poland in New Delhi.
The exhibition curated by Ewa Solarz and produced by National Centre for Culture Poland consists of two parts. First is a collection of ten works by contemporary artists including Jacek Ambrożewski, Katarzyna Bogucka, Robert Czajka, Tymek Jezierski, Weronika Lipniewska – Vera King, Karolina Lubaszko, Adela Madej, Łukasz Majewski – Tin Boy, Tomasz Opaliński, Urszula Palusińska who have visually interpreted Lem’s works. The second part presents graphics by Daniel Mróz, who collaborated with the writer for many years.
Stanisław Lem (1921-2006) was a Polish writer of science fiction and essays on various subjects, including philosophy, futurology and literary criticism. Many of his science fiction stories are of satirical and humorous character. Lem’s books has been translated into over 50 languages and have sold over 45 million copies. Worldwide, he is best known as the author of the novel Solaris. It has been filmed 3 times: by Boris Nirenburg, Andrei Tarkovsky and Steven Soderbergh.
