Polish-Ukrainian writer Żanna Słoniowska met with Indian audience
Two wonderful meetings with the writer Ms. Żanna Słoniowska took place in Sangeet Shyamala (11.06) and at the Ukrainian Embassy (13.06) in New Delhi. Żanna Słoniowska is a Polish-Ukrainian writer born in Lviv but living in Poland. She is the author of several books, including the novel The House with the Stained-Glass Window translated into six languages. The House with the Stained-Glass Window is also available in India.
The participants of the meetings were very involved in the conversation with the author. However, she was asked not only about literature and the creative process, but also about matters related to the Russian war against Ukraine.
The discussion was moderated by Ms. Magdalena Filipczuk from the Institute of Literature in Kraków. Of course, the Ambassadors of Poland H.E Adam Burakowski and Ukraine H.E. Igor Poliha were also present.
The Indian poet Urvashi Bundel was a special guest at both meetings. She read her insightful and moving poem about the war in Ukraine.
