The Polish Institute New Delhi in collaboration with the Institute of Literature presented the art exhibition Głosy / Voices .
The exhibition is a collection of Jan Polkowski’s poetry, translated into English by Charles S. Kraszewski, with photographs by Maria Gąsecka.
Jan Polkowski’s cycle of poems Głosy / Voices is dedicated to the events in Poland and victims of the massacre on the Baltic Coast in 1970. The poet invited Maria Gąsecka to adorn his poems with her photographs. Maria Gąsiecka presented black and white photographs of the deserted Gdańsk Shipyard.
The exhibition was inaugurated on 7th October 2022 at the Sangeet Shyamala Gallery in New Delhi. At the opening curator of the exhibition and author of presented photographs, Maria Gąsiecka discussed with prof. Charles S. Kraszewski about Polish poetry, art, and history. The meeting was moderated by Magdalena Filipczuk from the Institute of Literature.
