Maharaja’s children. Brave Bunch in India- screenings in public schools in Jamnagar area
“Maharaja’s children. Brave Bunch in India” is an interactive documentary directed by Tomasz Stankiewicz and based on Wieslaw’s Stypula memoirs. Documentary follow a story of Wieslaw Stypula’s childhood, one of a thousand Polish children who were saved from the hell of World War II by an Indian Maharaja, Jam Saheb Digvijaysinhji.
Monika Szumowska- Kowaleczko, executive producer and co-autor of the script, travelled to India and in December 2023 presented the documentary in public schools in Jamnagar area. The meetings were very emotional for both sides, Ms. Monika Szumowska- Kowaleczko and students who discovered this story of love and compassion in their own language-Gujurati.
Presentation of the documentary took place in Wollen Mill Kanya Taluka School in Jamnagar and Hapa Station District Girls School, Navagam-Ghed Primary School, Khimrana Primary School and Kevdapat Primary School, Shree Satya Sai Vidyalaya – Jamnagar.
Polish Institute in Delhi supported Gujarati and Hindi translation of the webdoc.
