Apeksha Niranjan’s Bharatanatyam dance performance at the Indian Habitat Centre
Apeksha Niranjan captivated the audiences with “Nayanam” performance, held in Delhi at the Habitat World, India Habitat Centre on 14 June 2024, where Dr. Sebastian Domzalski, Chargé d’affaires a.i. of Poland in India, Maria Wejs-Domzalska, Head of the Consular Section of the Embassy of Poland in New Delhi and Dr. Magdalena Filipczuk, Acting Director of the Polish Institute New Delhi, were the guests of honor.
“Nayanam” is a Bharatanatyam dance performance and thematic exploration of the myriad emotions and expressions conveyed through the eyes.
Apeksha is a unique and versatile Indian dancer with Polish ancestry, as her grandmother found shelter in Valivade, India during WWII. Her recital delves deep into the significance of the eyes as the windows to the soul, portraying their ability to define beauty, communicate emotions and enhance the storytelling aspect of dance. She frequently travels between India and Poland to present her performances and tell about her unique family history, which unites Poland and India.
