“Youth Euro Quiz 2024: Exploring Europe” – Indian high school students and diplomats in joint teams

On 2nd September 2024 at 11 am, a quiz entitled “Youth Euro Quiz 2024: Exploring Europe” took place at the Czech Embassy compound in New Delhi. 

The quiz was conducted by an experienced Indian journalist and quizmaster, Mr. Srinjoy Chowdhury. He has written four quiz books and conducts a quiz every month at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club, New Delhi. 

Each of the 10 teams included 3 students from selected Indian secondary schools and a diplomat representing one of the Euro Quiz partners. During 8 rounds of the tournament, participants’ knowledge of topics such as history, geography, art, culture, sports, tradition and the contribution of famous personalities to global affairs were tested.

The Polish Institute’s partners of the event included the Embassy of the Republic of Poland, the Embassy of Ukraine, the Embassy of the Czech Republic, the Embassy of the Slovak Republic, the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria, the Embassy of Estonia, the Embassy of Latvia, the Embassy of Lithuania, the Embassy of Romania, and the Liszt Institute in Delhi.

The aim of the program was to educate and inspire young minds while strengthening diplomatic ties and cultural understanding between India and the countries of Eastern & Central Europe and the Baltic states. Youth Euro Quiz aspired to build a deeper understanding and appreciation of the rich history, traditions, culture, and geopolitical significance of the region among Indian high school students.
