„A street cart named desire”- costumes by Dorota Kuźniarska
The Panorama Editions vol 4. conceptualized by Sarah Singh took place on 16th November 2024 at the Gwalior Fort. During the evening a site-specific theatre work titled “A STREET CART NAMED DESIRE” by Sarah Singh was presented. It was performed by 23 international and 25 local artists and focused on twin themes of Desire and Sustainability. The costumes, props, and staging were made from found, recycled, and natural materials. As per Sarah Singh, Creative Director of the Panorama Editions, infinitude represented by the Fort structure provoked dialogue around Desire and Sustainability as elemental to survival.
Polish designer and visual artist Dorota Kuźniarska designed dresses for the two Greek opera singers participating in the performance. Ms Kuźniarska is a lecturer at the University of Arts Magdalena Abkanowicz in Poznań.
The post-performance exhibition at the Jai Vilas Palace remained open until 23rd 2024 November.
