
The Film Society Vadodara and Saloni Bhojani, in collaboration with the Polish Institute, New Delhi, invite you all to the screening of the film ‘Chitraanjali. Stefan Norblin in India’ on 29th June 2025.
Directed, written, and edited by the talented Malgorzata Skiba, this film takes us on a fascinating journey through the life of Stefan Norblin, a Polish artist who made his mark among Indian Maharajas with his grand paintings, murals, and interior designs during the tensed years of World War II.
As a versatile and acclaimed artist in Poland, Norblin’s story unfolds through his striking Art Déco-style works created for Indian Maharajas in Jodhpur, Morvi, and Ramgarh from 1941- 1946. By employing archival materials, conversations, and interviews, the director brings forth a narrative that had previously been lost to time. With a keen focus on capturing his grand works through the camera, the film gives us a context of the era he worked in and features a captivating musical backdrop that transports viewers.
