“When I was growing up in Poland, almost every year, at Christmas family gatherings, I heard a story about a rich and famous aunt who came to visit from New York. ‘Who was she,’ I asked my father, some years later. ‘Marcella Sembrich,’ he replied.” – Director Radka Franczak, on the inspiration for her upcoming film documentary on Sembrich
Afterimage (North Country Premiere), the final masterwork of the great Polish film director Andrzej Wajda will be introduced by one of his students, Radka Franczak, a graduate of the Wajda School in Poland. The film will be preceded by a short preview of Franczak’s own work-in-progress, Lost Voice, a documentary on the life of Marcella Sembrich.
