Karolina Kraczkowska is the 2022 MRX/Poland artist in residence at Movement Research through a partnership with the Institute for Music and Dance in Warsaw. During her two week residency she is taking classes, rehearsing in the MR studios, and performing on the Movement Research at the Judson Church series on Monday, November 14, 7pm ET.
Karolina Kraczkowska (1981) is a Polish dancer and maker affiliated with the choreographic collective Centre in Motion in Warsaw. She majored in Applied Linguistics and Dance in Performance at Laban Centre. Member of the Polish Dance Theatre between 2004-2007. Recipient of the DanceWeb scholarship programme in 2016 under the mentorship of Tino Sehgal. She had the privilege to collaborate on freelance projects abroad and is now based in Poland.
Alongside working as a performer she develops her own work in different settings. She is currently developing work on the theme of inner warriorship. In her works she investigates physicality that has the ability to deconstruct itself and adopt new identities. Self as a work in progress which has the capacity to undergo a series of transformations and becomings. Matter in constant formation and dissolution. Understood as multiplicity and assemblage. Seen as a dynamic concept not bound to a fixed identity.
