The Kosciuszko Foundation is thrilled to welcome a globally celebrated bass-baritone, Tomasz Konieczny, for a solo recital promoting his new record “From Secession to Distortion.”
Praised by the New York Times as “the standout member of the cast […] a powerhouse bass, in a breakthrough Met debut as Alberich,” Tomasz Konieczny is one of the most outstanding bass-baritones today performing at the world’s biggest operatic stages, including the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala, Vienna State Opera, the Bayreuth Festival; an ambassador of Polish culture abroad, an excellent interpreter of Wagnerian characters, winner of many honors and distinctions. Tomasz Konieczny is set to perform the title role in Richard Wagner’s “Der Fliegende Hollander,” with the Metropolitan Opera opening on May 30, 2023.
The recital will spotlight music by Richard Strauss, Mykola Lysenko, Henryk Czyz, and Stanislaw Moniuszko.
