The Ars Activa Foundation cordially invites you to the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall for the celebratory concert Sounds of Heritage – Paris, Zakopane, dedicated to Count Władysław Zamoyski.
The concert program features music that will guide the audience from the ambiance of Parisian salons (the birthplace of Władysław Zamoyski) to the Tatra meadows and Zakopane itself (which the count purchased and developed). The repertoire will include Chopin’s Trio, Wieniawski’s Variations and Mazurkas, excerpts from Offenbach’s operettas, arias from the opera Halka, and Wojciech Kilar’s masterpiece Orawa. The highlight will be an interpretation of a recently discovered Waltz by F. Chopin.
Additionally, there will be three world premieres: Norbert Palej’s “A Conversation between Count Władysław Zamoyski and Brother Albert on the Trail from Kuźnice to Kalatówki,” Jan Krutul’s “Let’s Share Joy,” and “Poppies” by Krzysztof Niegowski.
Over 50 artists from Poland, Canada, Spain, France, and the United States will perform, including singers, instrumentalists, the Opera Comique Choir from Washington, the Copernicus Children’s Choir, and a vocal ensemble from the Polish American Dance Company.
