The “Polish Summer Film Festival” organized by Polish Institute in Beijing took place on every Thursday night from August 11th to August 25th!
Three films were shown at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Beijing:
1. “Warsaw 1944”, a film commemorating the Warsaw Uprising
2. ” Quo Vadis, Aïda?”, a film which won the 34th European Film Awards for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actress.
3. “ Even Mice Belong in Heaven”, a film which won the prize for the best animated film at the Shanghai Film Festival
These movies, despite being filmed in very different settings – one is a story set in the historic context of Warsaw Uprising, one is about a more recent (90’s) conflict in Balkans, one is an animated movie, touch upon important and very actual nowadays topics, such as war, conflict, hatred, sacrifice, heroism but also love.
We thank to all guests who came to the Embassy to watch these important stories.
