Polish choral music in China

The Choir of the Maritime University of Szczecin will perform at three of China’s leading choral festivals – the 17th China International Choral Festival in Beijing, the Summer Festival in Qingdao and the Folk Music Festival in Guizhou Province.

Chinese and foreign audiences will be able to enjoy both Polish contemporary music and native folk musical traditions during the Choir’s first tour in China.

The Choir, conducted by Sylwia Fabiańczyk-Makuch, was founded 21 years ago. The choir will perform eight times, with a repertoire that includes works from their most recent album, “The Sound of the Sea,” nominated for the prestigious Fryderyk Award and features compositions by contemporary Polish composers and songwriters like Miłosz Bembinow, Anna Anna Rocławska-Musiałczyk, Marek Raczyński, and Zuzanna Koziej; a world premiere of a piece composed by renowned American composer Z. Randall Stroope specifically composed for the choir; as well as new arrangements of Polish folk songs, world music compositions, and hit songs by Jacek Sykulski.

The Polish Institute in Beijing cordially invites you to attend the concerts of The Choir of Maritime University of Szczecin.
