The Music and the Man

Concert on the occasion of the 170th death anniversary of Frederic Chopin, Colombo, Sri Lanka

We are pleased to invite you to the concert The Music and the Man being organised by the BCIS in collaboration with the Polish Institute in New Delhi to commemorate the 170th death anniversary of Frederic Chopin, followed by lecture and discussion.

The concert’s special guest will be Vidura Rodrigo and polish violinist Tomasz Pająk.

Concert will start at 5.30 PM on 26 November 2019 at Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies (BMICH).

Artist Tomasz Pajak has an illustrious carrier in music. He has been a member of world-famous orchestras such as the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, under Sir Simon Rattle, and the Opera House in Wroclaw, under Ewa Michnik. His artistic projects include a performance with the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra for Zubin Mehta’s 80th birthday celebration. As a chamber music performer he undertook venues including Palais des Beaux Arts and Flagey Studio 4 in Brussels.

Tomasz has also participated in international festivals such as Contemporary Music Festival Warsaw Autumn and Idyllwild Arts in Los Angeles. As a member of Duo Berkendal together with Magdalena Sas, he performed across India and Europe at venues including the Art Chamber in Goa. Currently he is a teacher at Delhi Music Society and a violinist in residence at The Neemrana Music Foundation.
