Music Beyond Borders: Michał Rudaś’s performances in India and Bhutan

Polish vocalist Michał Rudaś has recently captivated audiences across India and Bhutan with a series of remarkable performances. Blending Polish, Indian, and international musical traditions, the artist proved how different musical traditions can come together on one stage.

One of the highlights of the tour was an unforgettable evening at The Piano Man New Delhi at Eldeco Centre. The concert took the audience on a rich musical journey. Rudaś moved effortlessly between soulful Bollywood melodies, timeless classics associated with Frank Sinatra, and deeply emotional Polish romantic compositions, creating an atmosphere of intimacy.

The performance was enriched by the presence of Polish musician Piotr Malec on tabla and Indian pianist Shomudra Ghosh.

Rudaś’s visit to India also extended beyond the stage. During his stay, he was invited by ITV Network for a special interview with senior editor and anchor Uday Pratap Singh. Broadcast on NewsX and NewsX World, the conversation explored the artist’s longstanding relationship with Indian music and culture, as well as his unique role in building artistic bridges between Poland and India over the last decade.

Yet perhaps the most symbolic moment of this cultural journey unfolded in Bhutan during celebrations marking Constitution Day on 3 May. The occasion commemorates the historic Constitution of 3 May 1791 — widely recognized as Europe’s first written constitution — and this year’s celebrations found an especially moving expression through music.

Hosted in Thimphu by the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Poland in Bhutan, Wangdi Jamyang, in cooperation with the Polish Institute New Delhi, the event gathered diplomats, officials, artists, and members of the international community for an evening that reflected the spirit of intercultural friendship.

Among the distinguished guests were Piotr Antoni Świtalski, Head of Mission of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in New Delhi, and D. N. Dhungyel, Bhutan’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade.

The performance in Bhutan became especially memorable when Michał Rudaś sang two songs in Dzongkha, including “Pindarikaa” from the Bhutanese film Pindarikaa. The gesture was met with tremendous enthusiasm from the audience, many of whom were visibly moved by hearing a Polish artist perform in their national language.

The evening also featured a rendition of “Mazurek Trzeciego Maja,” one of Poland’s best-known patriotic songs.

The response extended far beyond the concert venue. Videos from the performance quickly began circulating online and eventually reached Sonam R. Kuenfel, director of Pindarikaa, who shared the recording on social media, where it continued gaining attention and appreciation.

Through these performances in India and Bhutan, Michał Rudaś created much more than concerts. He offered audiences a musical experience filled with emotion, openness, and genuine connection—showing once again how music can bring people together across cultures and language.
