The Polish Institute in New Delhi and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in New Delhi came together to celebrate National Reading 2026 with an evening dedicated to Adam Mickiewicz’s masterpiece, Dziady (Forefathers’ Eve).

The evening brought together literature, theatre and visual art. Selected readings from Dziady, powerful fragments from Maja Kleczewska’s theatrical adaptation, and an evocative art installation by Anna Krzemińska invited guests into Mickiewicz’s world of memory, love, exile, suffering and hope.

The celebration continued with a special sweet surprise created exclusively for the Embassy, inspired by Polish culinary tradition and offering guests a taste of Poland.

Through literature, performance, art and shared experience, National Reading 2026 became a memorable evening dedicated to one of the most important works of Polish culture.
