Polish participation at AIKYAM – Rasa & Realism2026

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in New Delhi and the Polish Institute New Delhi were delighted to participate in AIKYAM – Rasa & Realism2026, a cross-cultural initiative, that brought together art, heritage, architecture, design, music, cuisine and living traditions, is being held in Vadodara, Gujarat, from 9–11 October 2026.

This edition drew inspiration from the artistic legacy of Raja Ravi Varma, whose celebrated works beautifully blend Indian themes, mythology and traditions with the techniques and visual language of European realism.

The programme featured engaging panel discussions, site visits and a special musical performance by Polish violinist Tomasz Pająk, supported by the Polish Institute New Delhi.

The musical programme brought together compositions from India and across Europe, celebrating the richness and diversity of different musical traditions. Representing Poland was „Źródło Aretuzy” (The Fountain of Arethusa) by Karol Szymanowski, one of the most renowned composers of the 20th century. The programme also featured works by J. Ph. Rameau (France), M. de Falla (Spain), E. Grieg (Norway), G. F. Handel (German-British) and Josip Hatze (Croatia), creating a wonderful musical journey across countries and cultures.

From Vadodara’s magnificent royal heritage and UNESCO-recognised sites to Gujarat’s rich textile traditions and vibrant Navratri celebrations, AIKYAM offered an opportunity to explore how artistic expression connects histories, traditions and contemporary creativity.
