Saturday, December 8, 2018

SCANDINAVIA HOUSE
58 PARK AVENUE NEW YORK

The beloved Finnish fairytale characters the Moomins come to Scandinavia House in this holiday film! It’s winter time in Moomin Valley, but Moomintroll doesn’t want to hibernate — this year he wants to explore the winter. And as the snow begins to drift and cover the garden, Moomintroll climbs out his window one day only to find that mysterious and strange creatures are roaming in the midwinter darkness, bringing new magical gifts. And even better, a very special guest will be coming soon, bringing the spirit of Christmas to Moomin Valley.

An animated feature starring Alicia Vikander and Stellan Starsgård as voice actors and directed by Jakub Wronski and Ira Carpelan, Moomins and the Winter Wonderland is a delightful family adventure for all ages.

Created by Finnish writer Tove Jansson, the Moomins are characters beloved around the world by children and adults through books, comic strips, television series, films, and a theme park called Moomin World in Naantali, Finland.

Based on Jansson’s original books with a screenplay from Malgorzata Wieckowicz-Zyla, Piotr Szczepanowicz and Ira Carpelan, this Polish-Finnish coproduction has been created using vintage footage from stop-motion Moomin productions produced in the 1980s.
