The International Chopin & Friends Festival is an annual festival organized by the New York Dance & Arts Innovations, Inc. showcasing artists of various disciplines inspired by Chopin’s legacy and working across a variety of media uniting traditional and contemporary art forms.

The series begin at the Consulate General of Poland in New York, marking a momentous occasion: the 100th anniversary of the Polish Composers’ Union in 2025. To honor this milestone, the evening will feature an all-Polish composers’ program, showcasing works—many rarely performed—by composers affiliated with the Union over the past century.

The second concert celebrates the 100th birthday of jazz legend Oscar Peterson. Renowned for his extraordinary virtuosity and deeply rooted in classical training, Peterson was notably influenced by Frédéric Chopin—a connection fostered through his teacher, Paul de Marky, himself a student of the Romantic tradition. This program will highlight the classical underpinnings of Peterson’s jazz.

The festival concludes with a special performance by Italian pianist Luca Filastro, who bridges classical roots and jazz innovation. In a program dedicated to George Gershwin, one of America’s greatest composers, audiences will enjoy both Gershwin’s classical works and jazz interpretations, including live improvisations by Filastro himself.
