2023 marks the 550th anniversary of the birth of Copernicus and the 480th anniversary of the publication of “De Revolutionibus Orbium Coelestium”. This exhibition comprehensively displays the life story of Copernicus and the scientific history of “De Revolutionibus Orbium Coelestium”.

The audience will have the opportunity to closely appreciate the original rare book “On the Revolutions of the Celestial Spheres” published in 1566 and a limited edition copy of the Copernicus manuscript, as well as a number of rare European star maps from the 17th and 18th centuries. At the same time, the exhibition also creates interactive immersive experiences to take you through history and to experience how astronomers worked in the 16th century.

The exhibition is free and open to the public and will run until December 31. During the exhibition, the China Museum of Science and Technology will organize a number of expert lectures that will enrich the exhibition with a broader scientific context.
