On August 17, the Polish ensemble gave a concert at the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing.
The “Maciej Frąckiewicz Trio” ensemble is perhaps the world’s only combination of accordion, guitar and percussion instruments.
The talent of Maciej Frąckiewicz, winner of the Polityka Passport (2013) and an artist nominated three times for the Fryderyk Awards, has attracted the attention of Krzysztof Penderecki and Zygmunt Krauze, among others, who composed symphonic works extending the literature for him to the accordion.
Łukasz Kuropaczewski is an internationally renowned Polish classical guitarist who has performed on the world’s most important music stages.
Bartek Miler, awarded in numerous national and international competitions, is a versatile instrumentalist as well as an arranger, producer and educator.
The musicians presented the Chinese audience with Polish music (including compositions by Mikołaj Górecki), but also works by Fernando Tavolaro and arrangements of Chinese pieces.
The Polish Institute in Beijing was a partner of the Maciej Frąckiewicz Trio concert at the Fobidden City Concert Hall.
As part of this year’s tour, the artists also performed:
10.08 in Tianjin at the Jiankai Middle School Concert Hall during the 3rd Baidi Cup International Accordion Competition
14.08 in Hengshui at the Poly Theater
16.08 in Tangshan at the Grand Theater
18.08 in Jinan at Shandong Grand Theatre
