The 19th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition began on 2nd October with a festive inaugural concert performed by 4 previous prize winners: Bruce Liu, Yuliana Avdeeva, Garrick Ohlsson, and Dang Thai Son.

One of the most prestigious piano competitions in the world, it is held every five years in Warsaw and is dedicated exclusively to the music of Fryderyk Chopin.

This year’s competition runs from 2 to 23 October.
