The Polish Institute New Delhi was proud to present a series of extraordinary live performances by the internationally acclaimed Polish ensemble VOŁOSI in February 2026.
Widely celebrated by international media as “Exuberant!” (The Guardian), “Dazzling!” (RFWM Festival), and “Transcends boundaries” (BBC), VOŁOSI has performed over 950 concerts worldwide. Originating from the Beskidy Mountains of Poland, the ensemble was formed through a remarkable meeting between traditional folk musicians and contemporary artists from Silesia. The result is a bold and distinctive musical expression that defies genre.
Blending haunting melodies with vibrant energy, VOŁOSI draws inspiration from rock, punk, jazz, film music, and ambient soundscapes. Performed entirely on string instruments, their music is both powerful and deeply evocative.
In February 2026, VOŁOSI brought their powerful soundscape to India for a remarkable series of performances presented by the Polish Institute New Delhi.
The journey began on 4 February at the Abhimanch Auditorium of the National School of Drama, in collaboration with the prestigious theatre institution. This performance was part of the International Theatre Bharat Rang Mahotsav festival.
The concert resonated deeply with audiences and beautifully aligned with the spirit of Bharat Rang Mahotsav, a celebration of artistic dialogue across cultures. The evening culminated in a standing ovation, as listeners were carried through waves of intensity, reflection, and exhilaration.
On 5 February, the ensemble delivered another unforgettable performance in collaboration with The Piano Man Jazz Club at its Eldeco Centre venue. In the intimate jazz-club setting, VOŁOSI’s dynamic stage presence and emotional depth created an immersive experience, demonstrating why their live performances are regarded as transformative and profoundly moving.
The musical journey continued on 8 February in Udaipur, where VOŁOSI performed at the Udaipur World Music festival. Against the scenic backdrop of the city, their open-air concert became a vibrant celebration of rhythm, roots, and shared cultural expression.
After their stunning performance in Udaipur, VOŁOSI continued their musical journey on 9th February 2026 with an electrifying performance at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in Delhi.
