lokal_30 and Le Guern galleries at FRIEZE ART FAIR

Randall's Island Park, New York City

Frieze New York is one of the world’s leading art fairs, featuring nearly 200 of the world’s contemporary art galleries. It is organized by the media and events company Frieze, home to four publications (frieze magazine, frieze d/e, Frieze Masters Magazine and Frieze Week), three international art fairs (Frieze London, Frieze New York, and Frieze masters), programs of courses and talks at Frieze academy, and finally frieze.com–the definitive resource for contemporary art and culture.

lokal_30 will feature Archives, a presentation of three analytical artists from Poland: the legendary Polish photographer, Natalia LL; the leadering Polish video-artist of the 1980s, Jozef Robakowski; and the successful young painter Ewa Juszkiewicz. While Natalia LL and Joseph Robakowski are well known and established in New York, this year’s Frieze will be Ewa Juszkiewicz’s debut, introducing her new series of oil paintings. Juszkiewicz creates haunting images based on classical painting styles, like the portraiture of the 16th-19th century masters, and her latest series is a development of that theme.

Le Guern will present works by four artists working in painting, photography and installation art: C.T. Jasper, Robert Maciejuk, Tadeusz Rolke, and the Czech artist Jiri David. The exhibit aims to present the heritage of contemporary multidisciplinary art in the form of dialogue between iconic Polish and international artists and movements.

The Polish Foksal Gallery Foundation will also be exhibiting separately at this year’s Frieze New York Art Fair.

The participation of lokal_30 and Le Guern galleries at Frieze Art Fair New York is made possible in part by the Polish Cultural Institute New York.
