Anima Festival: Belgian premiere of the painted film “The Peasants” based on the novel by Nobel Prize winner Władysław Reymont

“The Peasants” is another painted film created by the directing duo Dorota Kobiela-Welchman and Hugh Welchman after the multi-award-winning “Loving Vincent”. The film combines video-recorded acting with more than 40,000 handmade oil paintings. The Anima festival will feature the Belgian premiere screenings of this remarkable film, which is an adaptation of Wladyslaw Reymont’s book of the same title.

„The Peasants” is a classic of Polish literature. The year 2024 marks the 100th anniversary of Wladyslaw Reymont’s Nobel Prize in literature.
