Special concert of Polish Radio Choir-Lusławice at Philharmonie Luxembourg
As a musical part of celebrations of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU, the marvelous Polish Radio Choir – Lusławice performs in Luxembourg the unique acapella concert fully dedicated to the Polish music.
The program of the event presents the rich tapestry of vocal music that spans centuries, from the purity of the Renaissance polyphony to the folk-inspired songs from the Kurpie, region in the north part of Poland, and emotional depth of modern masters like Henryk Mikołaj Górecki and Krzysztof Penderecki.
In this vein of music is the latest work by Sonia Brauhoff, a young Silesian composer (she), to be premiered at a concert in Luxembourg. The evening dedicated to Polish choral music will conclude with a performance of the intimate and minimalistic piece by Henryk Mikołaj Górecki, titled “Totus Tuus”, which was performed during the ceremony of the reopening of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris in December 2024.
The concert is organised by Luxembourg Philharmonie in cooperation with Krzysztof Penderecki European Center for Music in Lusławice and is supported by the Polish Ministry of Culture from the „Inspiring Culture“ programme as a part of the celebrations of the Polish Presidency of the Council of European Union, in the partnership with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Luxembourg and the Polish Institute Brussels.
