The Millennium Festival is intended to be the venue for the screening of high-quality, independent documentary films that talk about our times and encourage viewers to reflect on their relationship to the world.
The Festival offers this year Belgian premiere for two Polish films:

Synopsis:
The Polish village of Stare Juchy has been pulled apart. A third of the population left to work in Iceland, and those who stayed behind—most of them from the older generation— are hoping for their return. But by now their children and grandchildren are settling into new lives on the other side of Europe. The distance separating them is great and the journey expensive, so Skype remains the only way to stay in touch.

Pawel Ziemilski was born in 1981. He graduated from the the Łódź National Film School and from the Wajda School in Warsaw. He directed Urban Cowboys (2016) and his documentary Rogalik got IDFA nomination in 2012. It has also been shown and awarded at festivals such as Zagreb Dox, Alcine Festival (First Prize), festivals in Oberhausen, Beijing, Bucharest, Cracow and others. -
Summa | Andrei Kutsila | 2018 | 50Min | Poland, Belarus
Synopsis:
Andrzej Strumiłło, a ninety-year-old outstanding Polish artist lives in a small village surrounded by beautiful nature. He is visited by a young Belarussian woman — a painter and a horse lover. Their meeting at the far ends of life is an opportunity to talk about contemporary and eternal subjects.

Andrei Kutsila was born in Baranovichi in Belarus. He detains a degree in journalism from the Belarusian State University and he finished the Belarusian State Academy of Arts. He made more than 10 short and mid-length films amond which Focal Distance (2008), Kill the Day (2010), Guests (2015), 25 (2016), Alive (2017) and Strip and War (2018), his first feature-length documentary film.
