For its 24th edition, the Brussels Short Film Festival ।BSFF will be held from August 28 to September 5, 2021. Poland will be represented in the international competition with a total of five Polish works featured: Ballast by Daniel Howlid, Dalej jest Dzień by Damian Kocur, Jestem tutaj by Julia Orlik, Deszcz by Piotr Milczarek , Hi How Are You by Michał Chmilewski. Some directors will be present and will take part in discussions.

Paweł is a lonely man who works on a small river ferry near his village. Most of Paweł’s time is spent transporting villagers across the river. Although Paweł is famous in the area, he spends every next day alone. One day he notices someone trying to swim across the river. This person is Mohammad, the illegal immigrant. Paweł decides to help and hides Mohammad. After all, there is someone to talk to. (Fiction 2020 – 25′)

‘The Rain’ is a simple animated film on collective consciousness. It talks about how no accountability for our actions pushes us to thoughtlessly follow the crowd, which may lead to a tragedy. The film also depicts a struggle of an individual with collective hypnosis and its consequences for both the individual and the crowd. (2019 – 5′)

50-year-old Sławek quits his job. His day now consists of running errands for his wife or taking care of the house. Sometimes he wanders around the neighborhood looking for his missing cat. One day he meets Camilla, a rather peculiar girl who lives nearby. She promptly invites Sławek to stay in her garden. (Fiction 2019 – 23′)
