Two significant anniversaries punctuated the beginning of 2022: the anniversary of Olga Tokarczuk’s birth on January 29, 1962 and the anniversary of Wisława Szymborska’s death ten years ago.
These two eminent Polish women have something in common that few Polish culture lovers are unaware of: each of them received the famous Nobel Prize for their work.
On this occasion, the Polish Institute in Brussels proposed an online contest that allowed five participants to win a work by one of these authors translated into the language of their choice:
- Works by Olga Tokarczuk: The Books of Jakob or The Great Journey (FR) / De rustelozen (NL) / Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead (ENG)
- Works by Wisława Szymborska: Einde en begin (NL)/ De la Mort sans exagérer (FR)
Congratulations to the winners and happy reading!
