Open up to culture, study Polish! This was the slogan of the NAWA Polish course at the School of International Translation and Interpretation (FTI-EII) of the University of Mons (UMONS) when the students opened their own stand at the university’s open days on 5 May.
Students Sara Avognon, Thomas Danneau and Dominika Gryciuk prepared traditional Polish dishes themselves, which they then served to guests, explaining how they prepared the food. The stand was visited by students from various translation majors at UMONS who are considering learning an additional language.
As the only Central European language on offer at UMONS, Polish attracted a lot of interest. Thanks to the commitment of the students and the teacher, the Polish stand, organised for the first time, made its presence felt at the Belgian university.
