Debate on the occasion of the Year of the Three Polish Generals (Maczek, Anders, Sosabowski)
On the initiative of the Polish Institute in Brussels, in cooperation with the Permanent Delegation of the Republik of Poland to NATO and the War Studies University in Warsaw, a panel discussion on the current geopolitical situation in relation to the war in Ukraine and its impact on NATO’s eastern flank was held at the NATO SHAPE.
The discussion started with an introductory presentation by General S. Wojciechowski, the new Polish military representative to the NATO and EU Committee. The starting point of the debate was the military achievements of Generals S. Maczek, S. Sosabowski and W. Anders, the struggle for an independent Poland during the Polish-Bolshevik war and their contribution to the liberation of Europe from the German occupation.
The event was also attended by: W. Konończuk, Deputy Director of the Centre for Easter Studies and T. Zieliński, Deputy Rector of the War Studies University in Warsaw. The event was moderated by Bruno Lete from the German Marshall Fund of the United States.
