On January 27, 2024, we had the pleasure of visiting the Bib de Lettertuin in Woluwe-Saint-Pierre where we ceremoniously illuminated a neon sign featuring a quote from Wisława Szymborska in Dutch.

Furthermore, at the library, you will find a wealth of Polish literature, including books in Polish and works by Polish authors translated into Dutch.

The neon installation was funded and brought to life by the Polish Institute Brussels to honor Wisława Szymborska on her 100th birthday in 2023. Wisława Szymborska (1923-2012), a Polish poet, translator, and literary critic, was the esteemed recipient of the 1996 Nobel Prize in Literature.

Another neon sign is on its way to the library in Jette, and more Polish books will soon be available in other Brussels libraries!
