“The Employees” directed by Łukasz Twarkowski at the Théâtre de Liège
Aboard a spaceship traveling light-years away from Earth, humans and androids coexist. Both groups are closely monitored by the mysterious organization managing the expedition, as an experiment analyzes the cooperation between humans and their humanoid counterparts.
Polish director, set designer, and filmmaker, Łukasz Twarkowski has developed a personal and extraordinary way of intertwining the arts of cinema, digital media, and acting. “The Employees” is based on the dystopian science fiction novel of the same title by Danish author Olga Ravn, adapted for the stage by Joanna Bednarczyk. This highly contemporary performance is structured around questioning the essence of human consciousness and the status of artificial intelligence.
Presented first time on January 28, 2023, at STUDIO teatrgaleria, Warsaw. Featuring Dominika Biernat, Daniel Dobosz, Maja Pankiewicz, Sonia Roszczuk, Paweł Smagała, Rob Wasiewicz, Małgorzata Hajewska-Krzysztofik (voice), Miron Smagała.
