Poland-Slovenia translation and poetry evening

The ULB’s Department of Languages and Literature is holding a literary evening devoted to Polish and Slovenian literature and translation. Polish-Slovenian writer and translator Miłosz Biedrzycki will be the guest of this event, which will be held in French, with poetry readings in Polish and Slovenian. The conference will be followed by a drink.

Miłosz Biedrzycki
Born in 1967 in Slovenia, Miłosz Biedrzycki is the author of eight collections of poetry published in Poland and a range of poems published in Slovenia and the United States. He is one of the most renowned authors belonging to the ‘bruLion generation’, which takes its name from the literary review which ran from 1987 until 1999 in Poland. He also works as a translator from Slovenian into Polish (he has translated the poetry of authors such as Tomaž Šalamun and Uroš Zupan), and English into Polish, notably the work of Jorie Graham. He is the winner of several literary competitions. In 2008, he was nominated for the Gdynia prize for literature, and then put forward in 2014 for the Orfeusz, Silesius and Krystyna i Czesław Bednarczykowie poetry prizes for his collection Porumb.
